One week into University and I’ve missed both days due to my symptoms. I am not worried about that, the lecturers have been fantastic, but what I am annoyed about is how slow Student Finance are being. They keep telling me different things and now I have been told by a manager (yes I finally asked to speak to one!) that Oct 4th is the earliest I’ll hear about whether or not they have given me funding. The problem is, if my form is “invalid” again I won’t hear until then – then I’ll have to get the form filled out AGAIN and send it in again, then once they receive it it’ll be ANOTHER 7 days of processing! Do they not appreciate the fact that without this confirmation of funds I KNOW I am eligible for I cannot adapt to life at University?

The University, Liverpool John Moores, has been AWESOME. My course leader, Lisa, has been so helpful and so understanding of my position. Adapting is made easier by people like her and universities like this.

I need more advice though, like what I can use to help me write essays (I cannot type for long enough to do such work) and how to take notes when I cannot hold a pen for more than a few seconds. I know Dictaphones and voice recognition software will be given to me once I get funding but what do I do in the meantime while I am being jerked around by Student Finance England?
